"Hang up who-boo-hoo bricks!"

Putting up the Christmas decorations these days is a lot more difficult than it used to be.

This will be our second Christmas at Crick Hollow... (we moved here just a couple days before Thanksgiving)... and because it's so much smaller than our last house... putting up the Christmas decorations can be tricky.

The house we lived in in Spring... (not the season, but the town; near the Woodlands area)... was a two-story with cathedral ceilings and a lot of space. There were high windows, one which was so large we were able to put together a Christmas scene up there. We even had a gallery overlooking the downstairs. I MISS that overlook like you would not believe. It was so beautiful.

In this itty-bitty house I don't even have room to put together my beloved Christmas Village! (Photos of the Christmas Village I'll have to share in a later post because I'm still searching for them).

Because I miss that beautiful house so much, I've decided to share some photos of what Christmas looked like there.

FYI: The stone owl beneath the tree in some of the photos was a Christmas gift for my mother. It weighs A TON - so much so that you have to use a dolly to move it - so it stayed there for quite a while.

  1. Dear Kristin, your photos are always lovely and entertaining, but I have to say... Your Christmas photos are just incredibly beautiful! I love them all and the previous house was just gorgeous. I hope you don't mind if I pin a few to my Christmas board. Did you and your mom make several of the decorations? I think I remember from last year that your mom made some really pretty things. Looking forward to a fun month! ~ Diane

    1. I don't mind them being pinned at all. Pin away. I just added a few more pics actually.

It really was a nice house. It was in a gated community, but truth be told that was a joke because they let anyone in. (The HOA was also a joke). A lot of "riff-raff" lived there, too, so we had to have security cameras. I don't miss the neighborhood at all, but the house was wonderful. It's not like it was a mansion or anything, but it was very 'open' and not claustrophobic at all. I really do miss it.

As for making any of the decorations, I think there's a couple pics here with glitter houses that we made. I was thinking of gathering up all those old photos for another post, too, but hadn't really decided yet. It takes a lot of work hunting the pictures down and not many people will even see them. (I'm a failure at blog pimping. Lol!)

  2. You had a beautiful house. I'm sure you will make your present house gorgeous. :) You have all the trimmings!

  3. Dear Kristin, I can see why you miss your old house but at least you can use some of your lovely things in the new place. We downsized five years ago and most of our Christmas decorations have to stay in the loft - it's sad but I'm happy to have less spaces to clean. Happy New Year xx
